Edrington makes some of the world’s best-loved Scotch whiskies. In late 2015, the board decided to establish a new headquarter office in the city centre of Glasgow. The office was required to accommodate 150 people, with meeting, collaboration, whisky tasting and bar areas. Other key objectives required the project to provide a world-class, contemporary workplace that supported both Edrington’s drinks brands and the overarching Group brand, encouraging inclusiveness, greater collaboration and creativity, while also providing space for learning and teaching for staff, stakeholders, external partners and the broader hospitality and business markets.

The first appointment for the project engaged Form Design Consultants as Workplace
Consultant and Interior Designer to gather the brief and establish a Space Budget to inform the building selection; establishing 100 Queen Street as the preferred building.

The design, programme and outline costs were established by the Autumn of 2016. Work on site started in January 2017 and Practical Completion given in mid-May 2017.
The design provides a flexible, collaborative and effective workspace with a character reflective of Edrington’s culture. The aesthetic is distinctly urban, with inspiration taken from the distilleries and bottling plants that process Edrington’s products.

This event also presents a great opportunity to learn more about the BCO Awards from David Dool, Chairman of the Regional Judging Panel. The BCO Awards are widely respected within the commercial property sector. They display the strength of British office design and illustrate a combination of excellence from the clarity of purpose in the brief; ingenuity of product; clever design solutions where appropriate; and delivery on time and in budget. Winning a BCO Award provides members of the project team with a multitude of benefits.

The event will close with refreshments and the opportunity to network with fellow members and industry peers.
